In working with you, I will also draw on over 20 years of clinical experience. This includes working as Specialist Psychological Therapies Lead at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Clinical and Programme Lead for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies at the National Institute for Mental Health in England, Head of Mental Health at NHS South of England (East) and Deputy Director of Quality at NHS England South East. I have also worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Priory Hospital, Hove. I currently hold the position of Adult Mental Health Clinical Lead (NHS England Clinical Network), working across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. I have also completed a range of specialist trainings, including training as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) in addition to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing).
I am an Associate Fellow with British Psychological Society (BPS) and have Chartered status . The BPS is the representative body for Clinical Psychology in the United Kingdom. The society operates a Register of Chartered Psychologists who are required to meet the highest standard of psychological knowledge and expertise. Chartered Psychologists have to update their knowledge and training to continue to meet the required standards. I am also a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist. HCPC is the regulatory body set up under the authority of parliament to protect the public. Clinical Psychologists must meet HCPC standards for training, professional skills and behaviour.
What you discuss in therapy sessions is confidential and information will not be disclosed to anyone else without your consent. Confidentiality is only broken if what you talk about presents a serious risk to yourself or others.
